Obviously our county commissioners are owned by Vail Resorts and does whatever Vail Resorts tells them to do. They need to stop destroying peoples' property value. Many of us have owned homes here long before the county commissioners even moved to our county and it is not right for them to change the rules on us and limit our private property rights.

I think this is a sad day for the people who call Breck home. If it’s going to be this way, just sale the whole town to Vail Resorts.

STR rules are sufficient. Do not limit properly rights. It will not in any way cute the low income hosing problem. Use the additional revenue from STRs to address the housing problem. Use the regulations to control any STR problems.

I built my house in 2019 specifically to short term rent. If I lost my license or am limited to days rented this would significantly reduce my income that I need to live on.

Government overreach with too many rules and regulations regarding short-term rentals causing housing values to decrease and more days on the market for home sales. Government should instead concentrate on building the affordable housing that locals need.

I should be able to do what I want with my personal property. The government is taking my rights away. They will not accomplish the goals of more affordable housing by limiting my ability to short term rent.

Outraged 15 year local, and full-time self managed Airbnb owner who has a family that depends on this income to continue living in Summit County. Please don’t ruin the financial lives for those who depend on STR to survive and raise their families. Or have dreamed of having a second home while they support the first economic driver in our resort community, TOURISM VISITS.

I frequently rent in Breckenridge and have had great experiences. I am a remote worker and love short term living options.

I believe all property owners should retain their rights to do what they want with their property (within respectful parameters adhering to appropriate rental guidelines) and that the local and county governments should focus more on the real issue of providing workforce housing. I believe they are catching up in this area, building more apartments with fixed rent and constructing more deed restricted neighborhoods. We will get there... however it is unlikely that our local workforce would even buy any of these million dollar+ properties. We see more sales revenue on these soon to be restricted properties which in turns helps fund workforce housing initiatives. I'm afraid that the slowing down of sales will have bigger impacts for these funds than the government anticipates. Several years ago, I purchased a home with my own hard earned money in unincorporated summit county with the future plan of renting it as I moved on to different chapter in life. I have continued to rent to locals since my purchase and now am having to shift my life goals because of this. I don't buy in to the moving force of having anyone's property use being restricted by the government. This is not the answer to the issues at hand. Hoping our local authorities revisit these recent and any future infringements for our community members/stakeholders sake.

Real estate rights to rent, buy, and sell are extremely valuable & substantial aspects of the bundle of rights of real property ownership. Taking them without the owner's permission & without proper & adequate compensation for the loss of these valuable rights is an impermissible taking requiring condemnation and compensation for the loss of substantial value resulting from the governmental taking.

Thank you for your petition and your statement of true facts. The board of county commissioners is completely out of line with everything they’re doing.

It is not right to restrict property owners rights without compensation and equal representation.

It’s unfair to treat one area differently and cause economic hardship to others. Enforce the regulations and laws already established.

Opposed to the ST rental license regulations that are being talked about by the county. There are so many more ways to curb problems but the commissioners will be hurting property owners and locals with the drastic measures that they are proposing. It could take 5-10 years for some people to a license based on what they are proposing,. It is unconstitutional and if the commissioners really cared about the local community they would not be this drastic with regulations. Please stop the knee jerk reaction on this and take a realistic look at what is happening. COVID was an anomoly and it is over for the most part now. Please be careful what regulations you implement..

These proposed regulations will have no chance to obtain the very subjective goals put forth by the county yet they continue to sell them as the miracle cure to our community challenges after years of neglect.
The damage to local property values in restricted areas is already undeniable and soon the damage to our local economy will follow. Imagine their surprise when they realize that the attempt to push tourist demand to the condos of Keystone and Copper results in much higher prices in those areas and takes away inventory that might otherwise have been affordable to local workforce. And that by drastically reducing STR inventory they have caused guest rates to rise across all sections of the market making Summit a less attractive destination. And that those same higher nightly rates will have inflationary pressure on long term rental rates and will raise the cost to incentivize an owner to consider converting from STR to LTR.
It is mind blowing that there has been almost zero economic analysis presented by our “planners” during this process.
