I would like YouTube to consider adding a "Subscriber Only" option for the comment section of YouTube videos, whereby only viewers subscribed to the video owners channel would be able to comment.
In addition, there would be a minimum waiting period of 1-2 days after subscribing before the option would become available. This would deter users from simply subscribing, posting a comment, then immediately unsubscribing.
While this, by no means, would eliminate all hateful or useless comments, I believe it would greatly reduce the amount of abuse that currently plagues the online community and its creators.

Seeing this grow makes me feel like I am finally not fighting the toxicity in my own comment section alone. It is validating to know so many other creators are tired of the constant harassment and want a real tool to protect their communities.

Seeing the count climb toward five hundred signatures proves I am not the only person exhausted by the harassment in my comment section. We need to reach this milestone now so we have real weight behind our proposal when we present it to the platform.

Watching this climb toward one hundred signatures reminds me how many people are tired of the constant hostility in comment sections. If you know someone who creates content and deals with this abuse, please send them this link right now so we can hit our goal.

I approve this petition and hope that it is put through. I see this all the time where people post nonsense in the comments, I think the comments should be strictly about helping that Youtuber better him/herself improve their videos and channel to make it the most enjoyable it can be.
I've been wanting to start posting on my YouTube channel for a long time. and I have PS4 so it's so easy to do the only thing holding me back are the haters I mean I have at least 5 videos ready to upload but I just wouldn't take the hate well I'm 100% all for this idea
Maybe the best idea so far i stopped reading the comments for that reason i would love to be able to see my favorit videos and actualy read the comments to see what people want the next one to be and not just guesse it
I think the idea for subcriber only comments is great, I can already see creators being able to interact and be able to listen more to their subscribers through the comments, sadly right now that's now the case, because of the trolls and haters that have no respect.
I totally agree. As a content maker, it really kills me inside to see people spreading hatred all over YouTube, and most of us just wanna have a great time on YouTube and maybe have an open and respectful chat. Like, is it too much to ask? Come on guys and girls, don't be jerks.

Completely agree with this. Having your subscribers (the people that follow you for a reason) only able to comment will definately weed out the spam and hate from within the comment section and bring it back to what it once was.
