Dear Strongsville High School board of directors and administration,
As administrators, you lack reasonable doubt. Students use extracurriculars as an ‘escape’ for both physical and mental health, you are stripping that away by indirectly forcing drug tests onto students. As students, we agree annuals are adequate, so long as completed with our annual physicals and/or in our doctor’s office(s). This is an over reach into students lives outside of school. Unless a student’s performance is affected inside of school or the issue is brought on campus, you have no business knowing what occurs. Teachers are not being tested at all, let alone randomly, yet leading by example is the best way to lead. As students in extracurriculars we are already made to maintain GPA, a certain number of passing classes, and attendance. Why must we prove ourselves to you, that we are not on drugs to participate in these activities we already pay for? As students we hope there is a compromise, as that would be preferred.
Thank you,
Students of Strongsville Highschool
I am honestly a bit overwhelmed by the momentum this has gained lately. This movement is entirely your doing and I am just humbled to be a part of it.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. my brother worked so hard for soccer and now he has to deal with this garbage? focus on the actual education instead of spying on us.

a school system trying to drug test students at any given point is just wrong. i believe you should have concrete proof and evidence that the student is on drugs before you just decide they are and have to drug test them. thats a complete invasion of privacy. if your drug testing the students why not drug test the teachers? most of the time teachers will show up high or drunk but what do say or do to them? make them do a drug test? or make them stop being able to go to work? no we slap them on the wrist. you need to do better for not only yourself but the students .
