To whom this may concern,
New Canaan High School’s mission is to create
conditions that encourage all of its students to excel. With teachers, coaches, and other students
giving an immense amount of dedication toward our growth in character and
personal integrity, we can all agree that we take pride in being a part of this
school. The atmosphere of trust and
mutual respect that characterizes our own school sets a great example for other
schools. We all acknowledge the fact
that, while some of us are still working on understanding their
responsibilities to preserve this atmosphere, it is the responsibility of
students to conduct themselves in a respectable manner.
With all this being said, the pep rally has
been a tradition in the past to which we have clearly not earned this year. We
are respectful of the thought process behind the decision to eliminate it,
however, we are willing to prove ourselves as mature and respectful students
and earn our rights back to have one this year.
The tradition of the pep rally has been one of many traditions at New
Canaan High School in which students, teachers, and coaches take pride in
participating in. It not only brings our
school together, but when executed correctly, it can truly demonstrate positive
messages and have positive influences.
Keeping our request in mind, we are also
accepting the responsibility to abstain from alcohol, drugs, and any other
illegal substance that would hold the school accountable.
On behalf of New Canaan High School’s
students and faculty, we hope that you take the time to reconsider hosting the
pep rally next Friday, purely focusing on how it brings our school together and
what a great tradition it’s been for many years.
Thank you.
I would appreciate and truly enjoy having a pep rally for homecoming for my senior year.
