You probably found your way here, because you saw our poster. Maybe a friend of a friend told you that a friend saw... and so on.
So what is this petition about?
Marc and I, Michael, are passionate climbers and have had the idea to bring climbing to Leeuwarden. After talking with several fellow students at our University, we received positive feedback about our hobby and quite a few people expressed the wish to join us in our hobby. After a few beers and joking around, we came up with the idea to install a climbing wall in Leeuwarden and operate it for everyone who is interested.
As we can hardly handle such an investment on our own, although we would wish too, we contacted "Studentensport Leeuwarden" and "BV Sport" what they think about our idea and if it would be possible to implement climbing in their program.
They respond positively!
Now it is up to Marc and me to research the demand and if such an offer is financially worthwhile. Therefore we ask you, who found the way here, to sign our petition. Due to the fact, that this information is used to justify an investment there are some rules or regulations you should consider, before signing.
- you are preferably member/user of Studentensport Leeuwarden
- because of climbing as offer you would become a member/user
- you have a true interest in climbing regularly (once/twice per week)

Marc and I have been busy gathering data to present to the facility managers. The interest expressed in the comments confirms that a dedicated climbing space would be a significant addition to the student sporting community.

The response to this initiative has exceeded our initial expectations and confirmed the strong demand for a climbing facility in Leeuwarden. We are now preparing to present this momentum to those in charge of the planning process.

I really miss climbing since I moved to study here. PLEASE make this happen!!!!

Count me in. Been wanting to pick this up again for ages but travelling to Groningen is just too much of a hassle.
