Stop Walnut Creek Project!!!

Let's recall City Council Members!!! They do not have the best interest of it's residents!!!

I am against this project, which will bring our home values way down and increased traffic, crime, pollution, trash and danger to our everyday lives!

In December of 2012 my son was parked in front of our house. His car was rear ended by someone driving too fast down Avenida Loma Vista. The car was totaled. He was lucky that he was not in the car. As a resident of San Dimas for 32 years, I can tell you, our street has always been unsafe. And now you want to increase traffic in our neighborhood. That is insane! Stop this project for good! We do not want the increased traffic, crime, pollution, decreased home values, trash and danger to our everyday lives because some politicians want a legacy. If this goes through, you can count me in on any impeachment moves on those (supposedly representing the community) that vote in favor of any part of this park. The alternative to possibly use the city purchased land to increase just Loma Vista Park is also a bad idea and will create a parking nuisance for the community.

My message to the San Dimas City Council, "DO NO VOTE to adopt Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) for the Walnut Creek Habitat" but instead "VOTE AGAINST the IS/MND!" You only need to look at the comments left both here and at http://www.cityofsandimas.com/download.cfm?ID=35315 to know that this Project is not good for the people of San Dimas. Another thing, I vote and would not hesitate to exercise my right to recall a council person who fails in his or her duty to serve and protect San Dimas.

I am completely against this project. It is totally unnecessary to draw visitors into our quiet neighborhood. It will bring our home values way down and we will definitely experience increased crime- theft, vandalism etc. Bonelli Park...Antonovich trail....Raging Waters....enough is enough. We do not want it!

What this project is proposing, we already have it at Bonelli Park. We value our residential neighborhoods just as they are - quiet and private. We do not need outsiders flocking in to our residential areas like they already do at Bonelli.

I am a San Dimas resident living in Via Verde. I do not support this project. Bonelli Park is so close that we do not need another developed space like this project proposes.

I have lived here for 30 years and do not want my neighborhood ruined. There is already too much speeding and traffic on Loma Vista, we do not need more.

Totally unnecessary. Let the wca have their land but put up the fence between us. No need to expose the neighborhood to unwanted intrusions and endangering the health and well being of the local residents and their kids with excess traffic and all the problems that are associated with a project like this. City of Whittier had to enact parking by permit at the Beverly trailhead for access to Turnbull Cyn., because of complaints by the homeowners. The homeowners at the trailhead at 7th Ave. and Orange Grove threatened to sue and were successful at shutting down the trailhead there, having it moved a couple of hundred yards down to an area that bikers can't climb up and where hikers are winded just trying to get up the hill! In the late '90s the city of La Verne had to enact permit parking because of conflicts with the outsiders and homeowners at the Marshall Cyn. trailhead, again in the heart of a residential area. Things like both hikers and bikers leaving trash, hassling the homeowners about parking, bikers changing clothes after a ride,("hey man, I got a towel around me!"). Everybody was moved to Oak Mesa Park where now it's so crowded that people who want to enjoy the park can't find a place to park and don't even try when Oak Mesa school lets out for the day and the parents are trying to pick up their kids. The wca built them-selves a nice place in Azusa Cyn. at the old Encanto restaurant. Let them build their school and ranger house there, or better yet build it in Bonelli Park. After all, it is a county park and this is a county organization. We know the city council doesn't always think things through. Like the lawsuit over the wooden fence poles that use to line San Dimas Ave and were found to have caused the debilitating and permenant injuries to the two young drivers. San Dimas resident.

I live in Via Verde a block from Loma Vista Ave. Speed bumps had to be installed on Loma Vista Ave in front of Loma Vista Park because of excessive speed in this area. More traffic will not help this situation.

I live in via verde and do not want the extra unwanted traffic this project will bring.....not to mention the unmentionables that don't need to be roaming into our neighborhood!!! Why couldn't they of figured something out when this trail was launched??? Take a look at Claremont and their five mile hiking trail and their parking area that are not on top of houses!! And whose taxes has to pay for this to be maintained??? I can't think of one good reason!
