This must happen, this service is slow and is way too crowded at peak times much better to drive.

The north always gets a bum deal, sort this major rail route which handles 20.000.000 passengers per annum.

No more excuses, no more cast-offs from London's upgrades, no more constant delays, price increases, and reliability issues. Stop talking about the North and start doing something to improve its infrastructure.

Northern rail trains are a disgrace and so are the government. We need to do something as they are both useless and don't care about us up north.

I don't use the train at busy times due to the time it takes and overcrowding. I would give up car and use all the time if it was a better service.

major improvements in the service they offer need to be addressed it's not acceptable to cancel\delay or under carriage services leaving passengers stranded

Electrification is needed now, it should be given priority ahead of HS2 and Crossrail 2. And why not quadruple the line using the other 2 Standedge Tunnels and forget HS3, whatever that is, while you are at it?

The government "pausing " this project simply shows they don't really care about the north. Pausing it is only going to see costs go up even more, and the project will die a quiet death. It is interesting to see that there is no end date attached to this pause, either...

Why is the First Great Western scheme not being "paused" and why was it given priority, when our infrastructure and trains are in `dire straits` -wants an explanation !.

Tired of all the money being spent on London and the South East. It is time that Manchester and the North had a much fairer share of investment.

Please improve our trains that are heavily used throughout the day 7 days a week. Reinstate the electrification plan that David Cameron was singing the praises of in the weeks before the election.
