Instead of false Election promises, it's time the Government kept their promise and not blame Network Rail.

This is wrong. We were promised a Northern Powerhouse, and the first step of it is "put on hold" as soon as the Tories are elected because they need the cash to fund HS2. Prove you're not all talk and deliver what you promised Mr Osbourne.

Typical of the lying, deceitful conservatives. The wheels have fallen off Geoge Osbourne's northern hub. We have ended up with delays on the electrification infrastructure and twenty year old ex Thameslink rolling stock. At this moment in time there are electric trains from Liverpool to Manchester diesel units from Manchester to Leeds then electric trains to the East Coast Main Line. Absolutely shocking. At least the Cross rail is on target. All down south again.

Getting around the regions on train is an expensive Joke! Perhaps they should connect the major Northern cities before they start to worry about knocking time of the travel time to London.

I agree with the following - fairness for the North and adeqaute standards actually required. Never any free seats - always standing on short and long trips. Customer behaviour rude (E.G. beer drinkers, stag parties and talking in quiet zone) and not staff-controlled. For the money you pay - a better and much more conscientious service required including much more open returns - you should not have to buy two singles!

The train system in the South East is excellent. Let's get the same service in the North!

London gets millions for transport. The North is always second best.

The Manchester area is in desperate need of rail improvements.

the rail network and the rolling stock are clapped out and no longer fit for purpose. the time for improvement is NOW not some far distant time in the future.

Time to put your money where your pre-election promises are, George.
