I have always maintained that the "Northern Powerhouse" was just a CON, designed to help our London Centred Government to UNLOAD their Responsibilities and Obligations for Governing this part of the UK.
Manchester's Leaders have been SO BLINDED by the Prospect of More Power, that they can't see that the Size of the Funds being offered by Central Government ARE A PATHETIC JOKE !

It's a scandal that people in the north are given second hand rolling stock and 8% of transport infrastructure spending. The government is happy to take the same tax contributions from everyone, wherever they live, but then distributes it unfairly.

Its time the budget was split more fairly, more power and money to the North! Yorkshire is wonderful without investment think what it could be like with adequate attention

Please don't break a promise to create the northern powerhouse deal by whittling away at items such as electrification of northern lines. You should be INCREASING investment in the NW not reducing it....please don't be Nick Clegg.

we are using very old stock and infrastructure , it is time to update to year 2015 vision. Do not spend the money on London again!!!

The North is being left behind again. If the daily travel of members of our government was affected daily it would be a different matter

The Conservative government need to invest in vital infrastructure to support our local economy by commiting to the clear messages they were given before the election and fulfil their promise of a Northern Powerhouse

It is time to train more electrification engineers in the north of England where there could be work for the next 20 years getting this done and then more years in maintenance. Otherwise we will be having more east Europeans having to come to carry us through because we couldn't be bothered which is why there is a problem in the north west.

Public funding always seems available for S.E. projects while the rest of the nation is referred to as the "Provence's". Time to start asking "please sir, may I have more"
