Always the south prioritised in infrastructure spending... 50 mile of track that all, ... two of the biggest cities in Britain, but there is plenty of money for Trident nuclear replacement and Crossrail, and for electrifying the line to Swansea.

my fiancée has to drive daily to Leeds, the train is not an option right now because it actually takes longer, is still expensive and overcrowded

I do not live in the North but I believe it is about time the North got a fair slice of the cake of capital investment spending.

This is a devastating blow to SME's who have invested heavily in their companies and work forces to deliver this project . It's cancellation could cost thousands of jobs

Grow the North. The South is under pressure because the North always treated as afterthought. Connecting Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Sheffield should be plan A.
