The north can't survive being London's poorer neighbours for much longer. Electrification of key lines is a good start and needs to be followed up by rolling stock that if fit for purpose (needs to be either new or completely stripped down an rebuilt, light refreshes don't cut it... What happened to the 319s is a minimum)

Get your priorities right! HS2 is not only a complete luxury for Birmingham and London knowing the speed of the current Pendolino service but its also a future money-winner for the eventual franchise holder!
The Manchester - Leeds electrification is long overdue!
