This petition is to stop Sefton Council, Councillor Mike Booth and the Ranger Service from putting Grazing Pens on Ainsdale & Birkdale Local Nature Reserve in Southport. There has been no information regarding this scheme released to the general public up until recently, despite it starting in 2005! Also no public consultation or vote on whether people want this. The pens will take up 90% of the 204 acre site and will involve the installation of miles and miles of fencing in an area of special scientific importance. These pens have been PROVEN to displace wildlife and have no long term benefit to the natural environment.
