The scale of this response has secured us a meeting with the municipal budget office to discuss these proposed reductions. I am currently drafting a formal brief that details the immediate risks these cuts pose to the shelter system.

Ridiculous. Toronto is becoming unaffordable for everyone and now this? Stop the cuts now.
keep the beds open. winters are brutal here and u cant just leave people to die on the street.
DO NOT CUT THE FOOD BUDGET. These people have nothing else.
This is honestly heartless. People are literally freezing outside and the city wants to cut beds? shame on them.
The city has money for other things but not for basic human survival. Just sick.

My son works at one of these shelters and says they are already turning people away every single night. Cant imagine how bad it will get if they take more beds away.
