The airport expansion is clearly a gift to the golf manufacturers who want to be able to fly direct to Asia. And they want the taxpayers to pay for it. This airport was never intended to be for long haul of commerial flights. Leave it alone!

More pollution? No thank you! We need clearer air and less noise. We have enough to contend with living near Camp Pendelton with bombs going off at all hours of the day and night!

It is very sad that beautiful neighborhood will be destroyed by such a noisy Airport. Day by day frequency of small flying club planes flying increasing. It is supposed to be no fly zone for small plane after night time, but noticed it is disturbing at night time as well.
This needs to be stopped.
Try come and spend after noon in Carlsbad area with us and tell us how you feel about Airport noise.
So, I am strongly saying NO expansion. Keep it simple and small airport.
Seriously I did not notice this noise until last 1 year that we all are working from Home.

No to runway extension. Also, the take off short cuts are causing way too many planes to fly over our homes creating noise, potential risks and disruption for those working from home.

I am very unhappy at what has happened to our airport. We do not need a bigger airport with longer runway. Several years ago the airport built a beautiful new building. United and America West were servicing the area so it seemed a good choice. Then within months those services were gone. All that money spent for NOTHING. We now have corporate jets that are larger and coming in later in the evening and starting to fly over my home. Who changed their path?? I wasn't consulted. Why can't we get an airline to start service up again. We DON'T need a longer runway to do that.
Please listen to the people that live here in Carlsbad.

Let's try to make sure the runway extension doesn't change the course for takeoffs and landings. Pilots are already "cheating" and cutting across to the North instead of heading directly West( which isn"t as impacted with homes.

Stop the expansion. There are too many schools in the traffic pattern of this airport that are negatively impacted by fuel particles and noise.

Carlsbad residents do not want a longer runway and larger jets in our residential neighborhoods. San Diego and John Wayne Airports are close enough. Fed Ex and ViaSat should look elsewhere for a larger airport.
