The undersigned petitioners demand that the Decatur Park Board of Commissioners stop plans for housing, in any form, on public park lands and adopt a Binding Resolution rejecting housing, in any form, on public park lands.
The presence of housing does nothing to enhance the park visitor's experience. Housing only diminishes the experience through loss of access, obstructed vews, loss of open green space and wildlife, increased vehicle traffic, a general feeling of resentment among park district taxpayers, and the like.

Ridiculous. Parks are for kids to play and people to walk their dogs. Leave them alone!
My kids grew up in these parks. It breaks my heart to see them trying to turn them into residential lots.
So tired of the city just doing whatever they want. Parks are for everyone not just developers.
THEY NEED TO STOP THIS. ONCE YOU BUILD ON PARK LAND YOU NEVER GET IT BACK.
Keep our parks for the public. We dont have enough green space as it is without building houses all over them.

Already enough traffic in this town. We dont need to ruin the one place we have to relax.
