Sis. Paula Powell currently serves as the President of the Santa Cruz County Branch. She has dedicated over twenty plus years devoting her skills educating students and supporting the mission of the University overall. *We are asking that Sis. Paula be allowed to complete her final year as Founding Director and officially retire July 4th, 2011 and help her students, staff, and alumni with the transition and completion of the Center's goals and programming for 2010-11. *We are asking University officials to meet with the NAACP in order to work towards a meaningful and immediate resolution to Sis. Paula’s plight as well as address the retention and treatment of African/American staff and faculty at UCSC particularly, in the division of Student Affairs. Please forward your letters of support and personal testimonies to firstname.lastname@example.org by November 15th, 2010, on how Sister Paula or the Center has been of benefit to your or your organization.
