This development will spoil the village feel of surrounding areas.

Colchester is big enough!

Having lived in Copford for most of my life I have seen some huge changes to the surrounding countryside but these changes have in the main been seen as acceptable developments. Building a new town so close to Colchester in what is largely a rural area thereby absorbing small villages and huge swathes of the countryside is totally unacceptable in my view and will change the area that I know and love beyond all recognition forever. I urge Colchester and Braintree councils to think again.

This is a ridiculous proposal with not the right infrastructure to support it.

What is the effect on the A12 through all of Essex. Gov report already suggests that A12 is 130% capacity. Would it not be madness to let this development go ahead before the A12 problem is fixed. Has anybody completed an environmental impact study - rise in CO and noise just when the government suggests it has a green policy

Agree with your comments. What a poor choice. This is just the start in five to ten years or so this part of Essex will be one big traffic and rail jam. Countryside gone forever.

This is a dreadful idea. Stanway is already engulfed with new housing being built and it's spreading. The roads are already congested. What are the councils thinking about.

Please do not allow this development. The existing A120 cannot support it and nor can the London Road leading into Colchester. The infrastructure needs dealing with first.

Do not let this go ahead....no more concrete jungles. Enough is enough. We the locals are fed up with the countryside being ruined. More flooding, overcrowding, congested roads, hospital overloaded, no GP appts, this has to stop.

The surrounding areas could not cope with the impact of this volume of traffic.

Horrendous traffic on the A120 without these houses being built!! Building these houses is a horrendous idea!!

Where is the infrastructure to support such a development. The local schools are fit to bursting, the local hospitals cannot cope with current demand and as for the roads.... This idea is ludicrous.

The traffic is horrendous already between marks Tey on the A120 it will be at a constant stand still with big consequences for local residents if plan goes ahead.

I am vehemently opposed to this ill-thought out proposal. None of the local infrastructure will cope. Not the roads, nor the schools. Nor those who live here already. Rather this by a country mile - Build out around Colchester, where there is space, where there are new roads, cycle paths, larger schools and housing developments already. Please do NOT impose this alarmingly large number of houses on a charmingly rural area of natural beauty.

This is unsustainable growth as the infrastructure is not in place and it will ruin the surrounding area and Colchester in general, way too overcrowded now.

Building more homes will cause this little village to be destroyed, the roads and infrastructure cannot cope now, building works will cause more issues and the long term effects will see the village impload

Utterly ridiculous proposal which is totally unsustainable and cannot be supported.

I value our countryside and do not want it destroyed. Roads cannot cope as it is, as always tail back queues through Mark's Tey. This is madness.

Given the state of current infrastructure including a120 this high level of housing is not a sensible solution for this area.
