The infrastructure, trains, GP surgery and schools are already struggling this will make things much much worse.

These proposals are madness. I travel on a daily basis along the A120 between MT and Braintree and the road is falling apart in areas under the strain of an already over saturated traffic problem. How on earth do the planners of this scheme think that the existing infrstructure will cope with the addition of 1,000s more homes?!

There is no infrastructure to support this development. There are already several large developments in this area which are already putting undue stress on the rail and road networks.

I can`t believe this is even being considered. Has anyone from the council visited Marks Tey rainlway station or used the A120. Colcheser Council seem to be going for some kind of record in house building no matter where!

North Essex is suffering from this housing boom with no infrastructure. Traffic gridlock is polluting the environment and is no doubt causing ill health and it will only become worse as the crazy politicians have no idea how to stop this population explosion.

This is just plain stupid, the roads can't cope as it is, it can take 20 min to get onto the A120 from great tey as it is. And it would not be great if they build that many houses.

No infrastructure , could support a small development but this size is nonsense

Terrible idea to wipe out three villages.

Local road and rail are already over capacity. The planned developments will make the situation much worse.

This is not planned development, it is an opportunistic attempt to fund A120 works. New housing should be planned instead to revive Colchester for jobs and services. West Tey would be London commuter sprawl.

I am greatly concerned about the proposed housing development at Marks Tey which will make this area a congested area which is already on overload at various times each day with the A120 unable to cope. Plus the A120 becomes an escape route when the A12 has its numerous road traffic issues.

The A120 can not currently cope with the volume of traffic, how is it expected to cope with an additional 20k households using it as well?

I don't agree with this at all, more houses and more traffic how are the roads going to cope.

What a crazy idea, have they seen the congestion already?

This is a poor choice for development, creating a further bottleneck on top of the stanway area. The area is already congested at peak times and there is little infrastructure to support such expansion without risk to safety

No way!

The infrastructure in this area simply cannot cope.

The A12, A120 and the train line to London Liverpool Street are already jammed/overcrowded at peak times so will not cope with large scale additional traffic/commuters. Colchester is currently expanding at a fast rate thereby adding to the pressures on doctors/hospitals/schools - it would be unwise to continue with this apparently ill thought out proposal.

There is no need for more houses at this point
