Although I sympathise with the need to provide housing for the next generation and the need for different types of housing for those in the community, e.g. bungalows for the older generation, such a large scale development is in complete contrast to what the existing residents of Marks Tey, whom you represent, may require in the future. At present Marks Tey has approx 2,000 houses and under 4,000 people.
Although extra housing will benefit people, some of whom will be existing local residents, the size of development would mainly benefit people presently out side the area, whom you do not represent. Such development will cause the following issues below, such as found presently around Colchester where development has occurred.
The development at Stanway has already caused regular traffic tailbacks on the old London Road all the way back to the Stanway Garden Centre and the new house building has hardly begun.

We live in the countryside for it to remain countryside! Development should be spread throughout the villages with appropriate infrastructure and services upgrades to support any new homes. The council must work with CAUSE to reach a sensible solution to the county's housing shortage. 20,000 homes in one new town is simply ridiculous

The A12 & A120 are already amongst the worst roads in the country. At peak times the rail service to London is over-crowded. A development of this size in this area is unsustainable.

The infrastructure of the area is not good enough to support this many houses and the light pollution will ruin the usefulness of the observatory at Bures.

An exclusions zone needs to be created around all observatories to stop light pollution from interfering with the science

The A120 can't take the current level of traffic, judging by the state of it and the lengthy queues. People move to the Teys because they do not want to be in a big town. Build first on brownfield - leave the green alone!
