No to West Tey

What is happening to our countryside and village life. Our lanes are seeing increased traffic and struggling to cope with the traffic trying to dodge the congested A120. This is already making it harder to cycle or walk on the country lanes. Building West Tey new town will ruin the natural beauty of this area, and destroy village lives. This is our countryside with beautiful villages going to be ruined, along with peoples lifestyles. We chose to live in the country and not in a congested town. We will be losing our arable land, which is needed in order to grow our own food, and important to the country and needed. We do not want to lose our farmland and open countryside. Say No to building West Tey and ruining so many local peoples lifestyles.

Another chunk of green belt eaten up by greedy developers. The infrastucture is many years away to support this development and the county highways can't keep our roads in good repair with the current traffic.

Absolutely appalling, it should never have to come to this. All about developers making money....there is absolutely no justification for this proposal to build so many houses . . Disgusting!!!

Migration Watch tell us that 90% of the new houses built in the last 10 years are occupied by some-one born abroad. Why should we lose our English countryside to house the rest of the world?

I was unsure about this until I read the ludicrous website supporting it. 500 people 'clearly supporting it' - but none of them from Marks Tey I guess? To pretend all new occupiers will find work on the nearby business park is ludicrous.

I wish to live in this village and not a large, in personal housing estate. I love the countryside and this development will engulf this lovely village and it will die surrounded by ugly housing design and strangled by an enormous increase in population There is already more than enough building going on not 2 miles away, we've had that going on forever, are they not sufficient for the already rich and affluent developers!!!. I object to this proposal and sign this petition with pleasure.

West Tey - 23660 new houses, 56000 more people, 36000 extra cars. More commuters on an already over full train line, more cars and accidents on the already congested A12/A120. Beautiful countryside, farmland and villages ruined. Chelmsford, Witham and Tollgate Colchester are already expanding with new homes at an alarming rate. These are all along the A12. I am extremely concerned that a new town is being planned along this same corridor when the A12 is already at breaking point and accident prone. The Greater Abellio Train Line that serves London Liverpool Street already has commuters standing for 50 minutes from Witham. How can this line possible cope with more commuters? From my understanding no provisions for this is in place. This part of Essex has beautiful countryside, farmland and unspoilt villages. We do not want to be Park on one mass concrete jungle that makes this part of Essex so special.

Absolutely no way - how is this even under consideration based on the current strain on local roads, schools, hospitals, train lines??

There's simply not the infrastructure to support a development of this scale.

Do not destroy the countryside. Once gone it is gone forever. We need farmland and open spaces not roads and houses destroying our villages.
