This is far too many houses and will completely ruin the surrounding area. Colchester is already being swamped far more than anywhere else. We cannot support all these new people and cars. As it is you can hardly drive around Colchester and we are losing our identity and becoming a London overspill.

This will destroy the way of life for everyone who already lives in Marks Tey. Access to and from the area is already extremely congested at all times and impossible in rush hours or whenever there is an accident on either the A120 or the A12 which is frequently.

The infrastructure is not able to cope with existing population and transport and no council or government has been bothered about that so why should we think they will be concerned when more development takes place. Develop the brownfield sites not in the countyside. Stop the greedy landowner-promoted development

This is a massively inefficient proposal that flies in the face of accepted wisdom about urbanisation and will create another poorly functioning super-village bereft of the benefits that an existing town offers. Our planners deserve to be pilloried.

I am a resident living in Copford and the proposed development in the Marks Tey area which will impact Copford and Easthorpe and surrounding areas has clearly not been thought through in any way. The local impact would be disastrous in many ways. The main infrastructre would not be able to cope including the A120, A12 and Marks Tey railway station along with lack of schools and local amenities. Whilst some limited development could be considered carefully, the proposed 15,000 or so homes would destroy the area and the beautiful countryside and this has to be considered by local council before any rash decisions are made.

There is no way the road structure can cope with this, irrespective of the issue of ruining beautiful countryside on the edge of the Colne Valley.

We moved to a village for a reason! The A120 and A12 are already a nightmare. Getting a doctor's appointment is difficult enough. Insufficient school places. Why build on farm land?!

This has not been thought through. Roads are already congested. Local infrastructure will be overwhelmed by a development of such huge proportions. Building of new homes should be in smaller developments, spread between more areas so as not to impinge too drastically on existing communities.

A ridiculous idea. The roads here are already too crowded. The facilities such as Sainsburys and Tollgate centre are already over populated and congested. There are not enough places in schools. The air quality will deteriorate. There are insufficient trains to take all the commuters to London, This is an already over crowded area making it unbearable for people to live here if this proposal is carried out. As soon as it is agreed many people want to move away from the area!

I am against development north of the A120. West Tey will need its own station, schools, surgery etc & 20,000 homes is far too many.

20,000 additional homes would equate to a minimum of 40,000 extra cars!!!! The A120 will NEVER cope. Not to mention the extra fumes and pollution that this would inflict upon us all. Absolutely unviable and TOTALLY unacceptable.
