There is insufficient infrastructure to support current development, let alone this suggested scheme. How about regenerating brown field locations instead? We must retain this green belt for the benefit of our children and all the wildlife that relies upon it. If we wanted to live in such built up areas ,we 'd all move to London (not that we can afford that!)

Totaly against this project as it will create chaos on the A12 & A120 which are not up fpr improvement. Colchester is already a major problem when it comes to parking , hospital access, what cosideration is being made for the local infrastructure Surgeries Schhools Dental, and Social Areas for thses new dwellings. Which will follow on fom the vast amount of current building going on in Stanway and Colchester at the mmoment. ?

The scale of new homes, whilst a necessity in Essex, does not align with local topographical access and the significant infrastructure changes that would be necessary to accommodate people coming to the area.

800 houses is a realistic amount of houses for this area . Look at priors green in little Canfield .

schools & roads in this area are already at capacity. This will cause more harm than good to what is currently a semi rural area, not everyone wants to live in a built up city and this why we spent hundreds of thousands of pounds buying our homes

with the tollgate and stanway developments the road infrastructure is already suffering causing huge delays, this will not help!!

We have only moved just last year from Harlow thinking this would be more rural. The traffic already down London road is horrendous to the Tolgate. My husband commutes to London from Marks Tey station & the trains are dreadful & few & far between so they are going to be packed also of this goes ahead! And I dread to think what's going to be happening to the schools!

Colchester County council need to start improving the local infrastructure rather than just building more unattractive houses. The roads and shops are dreadful in this area. It will end up that there will be no countryside left to enjoy. What about the environment with more trees being chopped down, more houses and just more pollution! Stop thinking about your wallets.

Tollgate is already ridiculous with too many house, no space, no individuality and just ugly. This has already brought this side of the town to a halt and they have just started. Adding 20,000 more will just be stupid and destroy the local communities as they will probably just use the existing infrastructure and won't care as they will not live here.

Very sad to see such devastation being planned on greenfield sites...
It appears to look identical to the Braintree development style over the last thirty years - find a busy road junction and back fill with houses.
The villages then all blend together and no one remembers the character of the individual parishes......very regrettable.

OK, so where will the new schools, new doctors surgeries and all the other social infrastructures be located? The existing local schools are already oversubscribed, and our local primary schools are being forced to increase classroom sizes. Our doctors surgeries are unable to take any more patients, it is madness to even contemplate building more houses. With the relatively small number of new developments in the Tollgate area of Stanway we are already witnessing the knock on effects of too many people and their vehicals coming to the area. London Road from Marks Tey is now a race track and at times traffic backs up at the Tollgate Roundabout right down to St. Marys School on London Road. What on earth will the A120 be like if the proposed new development comes to fruition?

At the 2011 census, Marks Tey had 1053 households housing 2551 people who owned 1734 cars or vans. So multiply those figures by 20!
Before the first sod is turned for a house there must be new six lane roads; dedicated branch station with express connection to Stratford/Liverpool St. with a free car park and electric charging points; four primary schools; two secondary/grammer schools; hospital; shopping complex; surgeries; ALL of these to be built by the developers and conditional on planning permission. If those were the conditions it won't happen.
