The planned area cannot deal with this kind of growth. The roads, the trains, amenities and country side are all stretch. Infrastructure First.

Has anybody considered where the water and sewage services are going to come from, we already have regular power problems which usualy eminate from Marks Tey.That is to say nothing of the strain this number of extra people would put on colchester hospital and gp surgeries, it takes 5 weeks to get an apointment now.

An ill concieved idea with absoluteley no consideration being given to the already choked transport network and the plight of local people already struggling with poor transport infrastructure.

As a resident of Coggeshall for nearly 30 years I would suggest that Coggeshall,along with Kelvedon are dormitory towns.There are no jobs or industry within the catchment area to support the tax paying residents,continually squeezed by the Council.The community bus that exists in Coggeshall is full every morning on its journey to Kelvedon Station.Without commuters earning a commuters wage,in London,these towns and local businesses will die.
However,it is outrageous to consider building a ''new town''where local services,already under immense pressure,will surely collapse.It took me a week to get an appointment at my local surgery.My wife ,a commuter,works at the A and E in Chelmsford,They are at saturation point with a 4 hour wait.Maybe some of the paper shifters at Council HQ should go take a look and then do the maths with the 20,000 extra houses.To be honest,I really don't believe they think anything through and I look forward to attending a meeting to state my feelings on this issue

The a120 already cannot cope with the volume of traffic it currently has. A new development of this size is crazy for this area, as the infrastructure will simply not be able to cope. The landscape of this area will be lost forever and this should just not happen. If this scheme goes ahead, it will be disastrous for our villages. Please sign this petition!!!

We live in Kelvedon and are concerned about the huge impact of this development on the area, without the provision of adequate facilities

This will destroy large swathes of countryside and only attract Londoners who will overwhelm the railway (which is already inadequate) and choke the roads (which they are already). It will destroy Kelvedon High Street with commuter parking. There ia already massive housing development this side of Colchester. It is soulless and depressing with no jobs. To just keep sprawling it out in every direction is wrong and will end up an urban slum like the Maltings in Witham. Please don't do it!

This is too big a development for an area which already has crowded roads and trains, with no increase in jobs and which is already pushed to the limit in other areas of life - hospital care, doctors, schools etc. We all know that new towns - which this is - are soulless and never work as real communities. It will cause massive disruption for all around, sprawl way beyond the edges of Colchester (and Braintree) and simply make tons of profit for the landowners who have been pushing for this for years. A small development opposite the estate in Marks Tey (why was that put there in the first place?) and close to the station, yes. This monstrosity will change the character of the area completely - too far from Colchester to be part of it and too close to be a truly new town. I can't think of any positives to this size of development - aside from money made for land owners and the builders. There is no justification for building this on greenland and on this site.
