Whereas there is an epidemic of vaping amongst our adolescents and young adults, with more than 25% of high school students reporting vaping in the past 30 days, and

Whereas nicotine is highly addicting, often leading to a lifetime addiction, and this drug has been shown to be harmful to developing adolescent and young adult brains, and

Whereas vaping THC and other substances using refillable cartridges and e cigarettes has led to a secondary epidemic of hundreds of reported vaping related lung illnesses, causing respiratory failure and death;

The undersigned call for Governor Newsom and the California State legislators to institute an immediate ban within the state, of e-cigarettes, vaping devices and the cartridges used with those devices.
