There is a strong disconnect between the goals cited in this report and the recommended actions that would ultimately have a widespread negative impact on our children, and those across the school board at large. My wife and I strongly oppose these actions. Thank you for organizing this petition.

Why do school boards always seem to hire consultants from the outside with their theories instead of practical experience to mess things up?

This is program give more resource for the student . it is not fare for the other students.

Please focus on your mandate to educate ALL students to each reach their potential.

No student is a one size fits all and opportunities are available for everyone. This is not a private system. All students no matter what area, race or religion face challenges and the task force missed this. My daughter has been bullied in more than one year. And she is in “better” school according to your standards. I think your research missed the point. It’s about ensuring all are supported and it’s not about programs that schools have or not. It’s about a safe wholistic approach for a student. My daughter goes to a school where race diveristy, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status is diversified. And yet there is not enough support from staff and programs to teach both academically, socially or emotionally with consistency. It’s about setting real rules that are enforced for students to follow, accountability among students and among staff. That where improvement is needed.

We reject the current TDBS EETF recommendations. STOP the TDSB EETF.

Making everyone mediocre isn't the right way to get equal opportunities!

What is the Ontario education system coming to. All children learn differently, have different skill sets and therefore needs. De streaming, cancelling programs and cancelling optional attendance will create a base line of mediocrity. All of these out of the box programs and initiatives have provided equity in education for children who do not learn traditionally. These programs have come about with equity , accessibility and accountability in mind. Access is fair and diverse. Limiting choice , cancelling programs, access will create significant inequality and long term risk for all learners. Consider all stakeholders!

Keep the gifted program

Please do NOT de-stream Gifted Programs. Gifted Children have their own way of thinking and approach tasks in a different way.

Please do not destroy excellent programs that help our gifted students cope with school.

We definitely need more time to consider different options. It would make no sense to simply eliminate or significantly change aspects of TDSB policies and programs that work for and help out a significant number of students who might otherwise be struggling or unhappy.

Concentration should be on helping children achieve their individual potential, regardless of any economic, religious, racial, sexual orientation or other irrelevant handle. Eliminating congregated gifted programs for individuals who demonstrate a higher artistic or intellectual bent benefits no one.

Both of my children attend specialized programs (RHSA and Northern Gifted). The programs have been incredible for both of them. It seems so unfair to deny other children who have specialized abilities and interests these programs.

The TDSB's misguided efforts at "equity" are in fact resulting in the opposite effect.
