Seeing this kind of movement confirms that the community still holds the memory of Herdman Field close to its heart. I grew up playing on that grass and knowing that so many of you value this space just as much gives me real hope for our future.

I spent every summer of my childhood on that grass and it breaks my heart to see it threatened. We are just shy of one hundred signatures and reaching that mark will force the council to actually look at our names. Please send this link to a neighbor who remembers the field.

A lot of hard fought battles on that field. I understand that the school board do not want to continue the maintenance and upkeep but come on now! Don't sell off Bruce Herdman's legacy.
Herdman Field is a corner stone of West Liberty. It was the home of the Cougars for years upon years, also the home of the Sorghum Bowl for numerous years and needs to be the home of it again.
Our community has very little for our youth, it's unexcusable and greedy to take away one place they have yo utilize to play.
If it is sold it should be sold to the city of west liberty or the fiscal court to be used for youth not to be commercially developed.
The field shouldn’t be sold due to the fact that it’s been around for a great amount of time and housed many soccer events throughout the years. Soccer needs to be kept alive on its own field and not pushed aside for other sports/activities. The cooperation of multiple sports on a singular field never worked due to scheduling and time of year the sports were played.
Please keep our ball field Herdman field they deserve it and worked for it
Youth soccer players of Morgan County deserve and are entitled to adequate space to practice and play!

Herdman Field was named in honor for the best family that tragically lost their lives in an auto collision. It needs to stay
