There is ONE police precinct for all of Long Island City and Sunnyside. There are many women who work in the neighborhood late and would be sitting ducks for sex offenders. Not to mention there is no transportation around here either.

It would be a shame, it's a great hotel and not good for business within the vicinity. There are enough cars being broken into as it is and these shelters bring crime.

Fairfield Inn Marriott located at 5234 Van Dam St., LIC, NY 11101 is .3mi to City View Inn a Homeless Shelter located at 3317 Greenpoint Ave, LIC, NY 11101, AND the Fairfield Marriott 52-34 Van Dam St. LIC, NY 11101 is .6mi to the next Homeless shelter located at 3805 Hunters Point Ave, LIC, NY 11101 (formerly the Red Roof Inn - they change their name)
SO...we would have 3 homeless shelter (hotels) within much less than a half mile from each other and all 3 are within walking distance apart and less that 1 to 2 minutes drive from each other. Property Value is being brought down to this area. Owners would never be able to sell their property at a fair Assessed Value !

Seems like a sweetheart deal between Hotel
owners and the City.

One area...3 homeless shelters? No other areas in NYC has room for these people? This area was building up and now.....soon to be a slum. Where are our politicians?

Homeless shelters have "warehoused" people with criminal backgrounds, with no signs of support to find jobs, mental health services or integration within the community. Result: compromised safety to all within the community and an increase in local crime.
