You can count on one hand the amount of cyclists per week. Yet cars are expected to give way for cycle lanes…. Completely useless

These cycle lanes are barely used and often quite dangerous! It will also ack up yet more traffic on an already congested route.

Hi Alex,
The deputy director of roads for Newcastle Council (pamela) has repeatedly refused to share the details of the scheme. The details were shared in a meeting arranged by an independant councillor, but they have since refused to provide a copy.
Nowhere on this post mentions any particular party. Win or lose the local election, I will still be opposing this.
We have emails from Pamela, confirming the scheme and its lack of funding which they are trying to get from NECA

The LA gave permission for all the new houses in Callerton and during consultation they said there would be a bypass to take traffic away from Westerhope, this hasn’t happened and we do not need a cycle path!
Far more important things to spend money on.
