It's already a congested area and narrowing the road down. For vehicles or the paths for pedestrians will cause issues .
The council tax has already been increased in a time where every penny counts and with the cost of cycle lanes being put in instead of using the lonely more effectively in the local area and then you will just increase nit even more next April.

I very very rarely see cyclists on this road. The only people I see are idiots on dirt bikes which would give them more space to drive dangerously. Cutting down trees to facilitate this would be awful for the environment and the feel of the community. The trees around Westerhope are part of the area and residents and the children of Westerhope will be so disappointed. Not to mention potentially lowering market value of houses in the area.
