It’s a disgrace pulling down these trees for cycle lanes, all that money u barely see a peddle bike all you’ll get are these kids dressed all in black with balaclavas on doing wheelies along the lanes. Crazy

Chopping down a roadway of trees for a cycle lane. Destroying a beautiful street for a hand full of cyclists who don’t live there. Disgusting.

I grew up in the area and these trees are part of Westerhope's heritage as well as the environmental good they d. They are also a valuable habitat for wildlife.

The trees have been insitu for many years. They are part of the character and history of the area. Surely we don't have that many cyclists in the westerhope area. It's people who should adapt their behaviour. We need less motorists, vape and barber shops first, this will cut down on the traffic issues. Save the trees as long as possible. I thought they where all protected, unless diseased. ???

If the intention is to be more environmentally friendly by making a cycle lane then removing the trees doesn’t make any sense. Further, residents should be consulted when making these type of proposals as you are using taxpayer money.

Need the trees. Will cause more congestion especially with all the new builds. Hardly anyone cycles,so what is this helping

The cutting of beautiful trees 🌳 for cycling 🚲 lanes are pathetic. Spoiling the beautiful look of the area. For cycling lanes, that hardly anyone uses. This is descusting, leave the trees alone

The Vandalism and Destruction of the Village cannot and must not be allowed to happen. If this does get passed the Councillors who vote for it should be charged with crimes against the environment.

The proposal will be underused and costly-taking away established trees would be detrimental to the village

The trees have been there longer than most of westerhope. Furthermore, the village has lost a lot of its character in recent decades and the removal of the trees will contribute to this.
We need trees
no cycle lane
