Westerhope is already far too congested to add a cycle lane and reduce lane widths even more. Loss of the trees unacceptable

Yet another vanity project from Newcastle council. Until cyclists start paying tax and insurance then they deserve nothing…

Madness to even think about adding a cycle lane I’m what is already a congested village. Use the money elsewhere instead

This would also increase the amount of traffic using residential streets running parallel to Stamfordham road as rat runs which is already a problem

they should use the foot paths as they don’t pay road tax and it creates more traffic and less road for cars etc to use should be resurfacing the road not putting cycling lanes in!

Feel this will be both hazardous to drivers and cyclists it is far too busy and could put lives at risk

Ridiculous idea the village is busier than it’s ever been

Given the amount of new housing this road is already dangerously busy

I just want to keep the trees, the trees are lovely and have loads of wildlife. Removing these will make Westerhope feel like the rest of the urbanised areas of Newcastle that have lost all soul.
