This would cause more congestion in an already busy small village.

The road is busy enough without a cycle lane. The traffic will be horrendous. New housing estates everywhere but roads remain same

This will make congestion so much worse, cars will be idling and emissions will rise

How many will use this cycle lane ? It’s ridiculous the traffic is slow enough

Removing the trees in this area would be criminal. We’ve already lost a lot of green areas for new housing estates, the trees create a wonderful vibe along the road. Doesn’t make sense environmentally to remove the trees for a couple of people who cycle. I rarely see anyone on bikes unless they’re children

Daft idea. We’ve got hundreds of new houses just off St John’s Estate near Callerton. The road infrastructure is going to struggle with the additional vehicles morning and evening. Adding a cycle lane into the mix is beyond stupid and also, I might add, dangerous. The additional roadworks needed would heavily inconvenience current road users. I don’t believe there’s the need and would need to see proof that an adequate number of cyclists would use the proposed cycle path. I doubt they have the data to show this.

There are more than enough unused cycle lanes in Newcastle, they keep being installed and then cyclists don't use them, instead they ride 4 abreast in the road causing traffic jams. Also they petition for these cycle lanes and then when they come to a red traffic light mount the pavement and cross at pedestrian crossings and then rejoin the road after the lights so essentially indirectly running a red light, they either want to use and follow the rules of the road or they don't.

The congestion at rush hour through Westerhope is already horrendous since the building of new Callerton and North Wallbottle estates. This is not necessary and will make issues even worse

Not in favour. And chopping all the trees down for it is madness
