Absolutely disgusting g will ruin the village and how many accidents involving bikes riding lawfully have been involved in accidents along this stretch of road.

The beautiful trees in Westerhope would be such a huge loss for something as unnecessary as a cycle lane. They bring character and beauty to our village. The cycle lane is unwanted and would very likely be ignored and unused by cyclists as most cycle lanes are. The trees deserve to live and not be cut down for something so ridiculous.

I’m a cyclist and I cycle to work daily on that road, I would much rather cycle on the road and preserve the tress then have a cycle path

Cycles lanes are no safer than the road. Just let them drive down the middle of lanes, scratch you car with handle or pedal and then disappear as I have experienced. But seriously they are no safer

There is no need for a cycle lane as there ate not that many cyclists that cycle through the villag. Just like the 10 metre bus lane by macdonalds roundabout. Traffic was flowing fine before now its a nightmare trying to get through the village without putting more obstacles in the way. Cyclists and motorists have been using the same road for years and how many accidents are there per year I wonder

It would ruin the character of the street. It has worked awfully in Gosforth. It don’t want to see hundreds of thousands of pounds wasted for something that will not end up getting used. There are several bus stops that are in the way of the proposed cycle lane. I don’t know whether this has been considered

Destroying perfectly healthy trees for a cycle lane that will hardly be used, come on Newcastle City Council you’re supposed to be making our lives better, this is the sort of stupid scheme that Labour would have come up with.
No way ! Dont cut trees
