Safe cycling into town is important to me- I often cycle in. I believe Stamfordham Road alterations are not the best solution: it is a very busy road, and; the underpass for the A1 is stepped. A better solution would be utilising North Road which runs parallel to Stamfordham Road and the footbridge over the A1 beside the flats.
Given recent weather patterns and global warming, removing trees and adding concrete / tarmac is environmentally reprehensible.

Roads bad enough without cycle lane, it's not needed or wanted. Listen to the residents of the area you represent!

More unused cycle lanes not as if cyclists actually use them or maybe 2 a day. We need the trees not more tarmac, they cool the street temp are a place for birds and other creatures and quite honestly a lot more attractive than a stretch of unused cycle path. But typical council thinking I bet none of the planning committee even live in the area, let's start chopping trees down where they do live or if they are your councillors make sure you hassle them and give them grief until they resign.

I’m outraged at these proposals, faceless people deciding what best for residents we must have a say what happens in our community….

Complete waste of taxpayers money why on earth would you want to destroy those beautiful trees? There is so much congestion on that stretch of road already from all the new builds in surrounding areas!! Fix what needs fixing first like potholes etc..

There is no need for a cycle lane through Westerhope village. It will destroy 40 trees which have been there for years and look beautiful

I disagree with the councils plan for a cycle lane its not wanted or needed ,we do not want the trees pulled down it seems the council is hell bent in wanting to get rid of any green ie trees and trying to build on Meadow rise.

Trees are precious and greener than a cycle lane. They support life. Insects and birds. And people.

Not enough bikes to warrant destruction of all the trees
