Council wasting more money. Selling off all our green areas, now removing trees. They must be the most stupid, wasteful inefficient council ever. They literally find new ways each day to be worse.

A disgusting waste of funds when the area is neglected in terms of weeds and general maintanance at all street level. This proposal should be scrapped or a local consultation held.

Beautiful village. Why spoil it with cycle lanes that won't get used and most probably parked over

Not enough cyclists would use it to make the expense justifiable. We need the trees and grass to absorb rains to prevent flooding in the area and as shelter for wild life.

This is an outrageous proposal. We need the trees. We don't need a cycle lane which will be very dangerous on this road, and most likely, hardly used for that reason

I live in the area and value natural life greatly. Either tackle the problem directly at the new build houses causing increased traffic, or stay out of it. Stop pushing your lack of competence onto us.

The road infrastructure can’t handle the traffic. Adding a cycle lane would exacerbate the problem and potentially create more danger for cyclists and motorists on an already busy commuter route.

The village is congested already due to the massive new builds on our green belts. The roads haven’t been up graded for the amount of traffic it now has never mind more congestion due to cycle lanes.

Pointless spending of money, noone uses the one in Gosforth/Shoremoor/or anywhere else. May aswell repair the roads and make it easier to travel, bikes can go on the road just like they always have

Trees are an important part of our ecosystem. Some might say, ‘But it’s only a few,’ but when does it stop?
These ‘few trees’ provide so much for so many it would be a sin to destroy them for a minority.

In other places where there are cycle lanes most cyclists don't use them and are either in the road or on the pavement. The allocation of money to this type of project is a waste in times where more important things need attention . The Fenham Hall drive proposal is as bad

This village has always been an example of retaining greenery in a city environment. The trees that line Stamfordham Road are instantly recognisable. Not only is this scheme an example of destroying green spaces it will cause untold congestion, damage and cost to residents. There are no benefits to this work and it will not serve a benefit to the constituents who are paying for it! It is a risk to the residents not to mention the environment and local wildlife!

Mature Trees are so important to the urban environment aesthetically and for nature. Removing these trees should not even be up for consideration.
