It is absolutely unnecessary that have a cycle lane and shameful to take away the trees that have lined westerhope for years and years making it green and lush they are part of the villages history

We love the trees, we support cycle lanes, but this is madness! Put a cycle lane up Stamfordham road towards Cowgate, that part if the road is a death trap for cyclists!

The whole character of the village is defined by its tree lined avenue. The cyclists don’t currently use the provided facility from Callerton into Westerhope so this is wasted money as well. It serves absolutely no benefit while at destroying habitat and social benefit from green landscape. I am appalled by the proposal.

It is ludicrous to fell trees that support our mental health for tarmac we MIGHT cycle on to
Improve physical health. Trees are the lungs of the earth. Madness to chop them down. They provide an aesthetic that cycle lanes will not

I live close by and the traffic here is horrendous at the best of times. It is not busy enough with cyclists to justify these cycle lanes. Also felling these trees would ruin the overall look of the village

Because trees are important and have been there for hundreds of years, and cyclists won't use the cycle lane anyway.

The trees make the street, otherwise it’ll be an absolute eye sore. Our fields and nature have already suffered a steep declining with the constant building of new home developments.

Because cyclists get in the way even tho there are cycle lanes they don’t use them! they don’t pay road tax nor insurance
Danger to pedestrians, especially elderly
