The Village is a focal point for many in the surrounding area and cyclists are not an issue where as the beautiful trees are important for air quality as well as the aesthetics of the area. Sitting whilst resting is when I can enjoy the village and greet passersby.

This should not have even been proposed, the trees should be left to thrive and the proposal scrapped.

The leafy suburbs of Westerhope make the village what it is. A cycle lane is not required here. The village has lots of pedestrians, many elderly, this lane would end up like the many inner city cycle lanes,, unused, apart from illegal electric scooters using it as a racetrack.

We need treas for the environment and also for the aesthetic of the area. Newcastle is becoming an unsightly place. Plus not many cyclists require this as it’s usually too wet & cold to be out around the city in a bike.
