Save the trees

Trees should be protected! They are beautiful, environmentally vital, provide shade in hot weather, are needed by birds and other wildlife. There’s hardly any cyclists on this road, and it’s not a dual carriageway, so a cycle lane is totally unnecessary. There’s far better ways to spend TAX PAYERS MONEY.

The trees are beautiful living things and benefit us by producing oxygen in a high traffic area.

Mature trees that are an integral part of the village should not be felled for a cycle lane that will be a token gesture.

There is lots of places to cycle, the fire is already consuming lots of trees and we don’t need to destroy them for that reason.

I live in newbiggin hall. And I love the trees on our streets and roads. Not only do they help to clear our air, they give a village vibe. I won’t stand for this at all. We don’t need a cycle track.

Too much of our green belt is being destroyed.

Trees help clean the air we breathe. The traffic through Westerhope continues to grow due to the building of several thousand homes over the last 20 years and which are still being built to date. These new homes bring more traffic which ultimately pass through Westerhope. What Westerhope does not have is an abundance of bicycles. Westerhope needs a pedestrian crossing at Cobblers corner to provide a safe crossing for pedestrians attempting to navigate the increasing traffic from the new houses.

I cycle down this road regularly and it is fine as is. The disruption implementing this is completely unnecessary.

We dont need a cycle path. How many cyclist do you see through Westerhope. Council once again pandering to the minority. Leave the trees let have some greenery left in the village

A cycle lane is not a valid reason to remove well established and mature trees that have been part of Westerhope for many years, I cannot imagine many if any residents being in favour of this proposal

Cycle lanes are pointless and don't get used. The trees should be left alone they are more use and give cleaner air quality which the Government Claim to want to achive. We have lost enough green habitat for wildlife to houses around the area without taking what little we have left for a pointless venture. and the cost of this could be put to better use.
