We don’t need a cycle lane in Westerhope but we need our trees, stop ruining our environment and leave the trees where they belong!

Should not destroy the beauty and habitat the trees provide. Cyclists use other less routes.

Waste of time, open slip road onto a69 would be of better use, to much congestion already

Cycle path not required but an alternative route for traffic from the new build abominations certainly is. Keep Westerhope green.

Westerhope will lose that village feeling and it’s a rare sight to see a cyclist

It’s a massive disgrace to destroy all those trees that have taken years to give the village its appeal and I thought we needed more trees for the gasses etc and has a survey of no of bikes per day that use that rd

These trees have been here as long as I can remember. They are good for the environment, animals and for one they are pretty and a sense of what this stretch of westerhope has always been. Cyclists are able to ride on the road, the Highway Code needs to be adhered to by drivers. And realistically how many cyclists will use an extortionate cost of tarmac. There is no need for the waste or the cycle lane.

Trees are so much better for the environment than more roads which will be used very infrequently.

I have lived in westerhope for 30 years and the amount of cycles I have counted would struggle to fill both hands. It is a pointless undertaking as the cycle lanes in benwell have caused problems with traffic on road and very few cycles use this path. I am a mobility scooter user and use the path with no problems. This will completely destroy the look of westerhope and be completely pointless. There are very few areas that are as pretty as westerhope. Please don't change it.
