Rather you stopped the balaclava covered lads going along the pavements on illegal electric bikes on Stamfordham Road..cyclists do also need protection, surely the cost of this is not sustainable in this current economic situation facing the North East

I sincerely object to the removal of 40 mature trees and the loss of green space for this proposed cycle lane!

I'm signing this petition because this is wrong on all levels, these trees are beautiful and to destroy them for a cyclist lane, which will hardly be used is wrong, save the money for repairing the roads that desperately need it,the trees also help against the pollution, wild life also need the trees, we need more trees not less.

We love the trees in our village. No point in putting a cycle lane in as it will stop as soon as it hits the A1. Pointless. This goes against everything to do with global warming

Trees are more valuable imo than a cycle lane that will be barely used. Get a grip council.

Trees are very important and look lovely, it would be a shame to destroy them for the sake of a cycle lane

No where near enough cycles go through the village to justify cutting down so many trees, it's a ridiculous idea.

I find it unbelievable that NCC want to cut down these trees. Trees are so important in our everchanging climate helping to reduce temperatures and offer habitat for wildlife. What are you thinking NCC ???

Genuinely feel a cycle lane is not needed, for what would be a very short distance and the disruption during work would be horrendous.

Keep the already busy road in westerhope looking nicer with green leafy trees. Never seen many cyclists even go through Westerhope! It’s heading to motorway! Important for greener air & widlife

The trees are far more important at this time than a cycle lane which may encourage more anti social behaviour with e-scooters and motorcycles racing up and down the village !.
