Please do not destroy these trees, at this time it’s not a legacy any councillor would want on thier conscience

Stamford ham Road does not need a cycle lanes! Rarely see any cyclists and even in areas where there are cycle lanes, they're barely used. Waste of money, and damaging to the village.

Live in the local area, will only give more room for idiots driving like lunatics to overtake where they shouldn’t and cause injury to anyone using the bike lanes, robins, starlings, pigeons and squirrels have all been seen along this road and should have somewhere to rest and live! The amount of people opposing this compared to the amount of people who want a cycle lane are nothing compared, this can’t happen

I'm a cyclist and I love trees so I think the trees should stay, let cyclists use the pedestrian path, it's not as if there will be hundreds of cyclists running pedestrians down, look on the video how many cyclists did you see

1) the birds? I thought we were trying to protect the environment the best we can… 2) traffic, I believe this will cause even further delays than there already is. 3) there’s absolutely no need for it and it’s a silly idea 4) no.

The council is totally out of sync with what westerhope actually needs, it certainly does not need a cycle lane which will potentially only be used by a handful of cyclists. This proposed project will just cause more congestion to an already congested road as the traffic level has been increased by the 3000 homes in Callerton or are they expecting everyone to take up cycling. The council need to come up with a better scheme to ease the flow of excessive traffic before thinking of a cycle lane

It’s so wrong to take these trees down, our village has changed for the bad over recent years

Why the village when cyclists have to join other roads ie Stamford ham road up to cowgate gate.. are they going to extend the cycle lane up there!!!! Trees do help with pollution which should be the main priority as the traffic has dramatically increased due to the new houses in callerton. Don't cut the trees down !! Xx

Trees are an important factor in environmental issues and cyclists do not use this route. This is simply another waste of taxpayers money and detrimental to the area

Cut down mother nature's natural air filters and replace them with a concrete and tarmac cycle lane. What a good idea - not!

There is already enough congestion in Stamfordham Road and cycle lanes cannot be made wide enough for safety . It will create ridiculous congestion and could endanger lives not to mention the increase in pollution and list time in queues

I cannot believe we're again even considering removing healthy, mature trees in the name of bloody cycle lanes.

Losing hedgerows and green spaces for development new houses dont have front gardens. Gardens are being paved over for drives. Preserve what trees we have.

We should be planting more trees instead chopping them down. I don't need to go in to the benefits of trees as the Newcastle County Council should be aware of their own commitments to the qualities of air and their supposedly green credentials

I do not want to see the green spaces removed impacting environmental and wildlife, in addition to the general aesthetics of the main village. Just in case one or two cyclists that may or may not use this route does not support this level of investment and disruption to motorists and general public? I would like to see all council staff give up their cars and switch to bicycles for a year to prove cycle lanes will not just end up as red herrings.
