We need more trees not less especially for the wildlife and the pleasure of them just being there.

Why do councils think it’s acceptable to cut down the lungs of this earth? It’s nationwide and it should concern us all. Leave our environment alone and listen to your constituents.

Mature trees should be protected at all costs, with a programme of new planting. I don’t think Stamfordham road has much cycle traffic anyway. Seems pointless from every angle.

Trees over cycles. Let's keep the trees,
help the community, natural habitat of wildlife.

We need to keep the trees for environmental purposes plus it’s a nice walk which will be spoilt if there is a cycle path. Will this cycle path be the entire length of Stamfordham Road or just through the village.

I travel this area every day and I'm lucky to see 1 cyclist. Stop wasting money. Leave the trees where they are.
If your so desperate to spend money get the roads repaired, good markings and road signs are needed more than ANOTHER cycle lane

Having lived in Westerhope for 50 years, this will totally spoil our village, the trees and verges are part of the villages history. Not to mention the face that you very rarely see a cyclist on Stamfordham Road, a cycle lane is most certainly NOT necessary.

Because trees are better than a cycle lane even though I cycle myself, nature should be first.

I am signing this petition because I do not believe there are enough cyclists in the area to justify the cost, and I am concerned about the impact it would have on the appearance of the area, including mature trees and existing landscape.

Disgusting we would rather have the trees than an unwanted and un-needed cycle path. Another waste of money just like the useless bus lanes

Tree's are part of life, they live and grow ,plus there are birds and other wildlife use them, to cut them down would be an utter disgrace to install a unwanted cycle lane . All for safety of cyclists and other road users and pedestrians, but to cut tree's down to make room for a one ..it NOOOO from me

Money wasted by council in pulling up trees just to make a cycle lane is so bad for everyone’s mental health. Leave Westerhope Billage alone and use money in a better way.
