Too much traffic on the road cyclist will make it worse having to watch out for them too many accidents may happen

Recently many wildfires occured around Britain, it is absurd to cut down trees after the devastation that has already occured to Britains greenary.

In a time where more and more green areas are being destroyed due to extra housing, the last thing we need is to remove trees and wildlife in order to add a cycle path. A cycle path that many people in the area to not wish to have. Furthermore, the act of removing these trees will disrupt the road that already faces heavy strain due to the amount of cars on it.

Trees are important in our lives and will outlive us.
The council may state they'll plant saplings - which is inexcusable !!
No need for a cycle lane there.

Because we need trees they are the very thing that captures carbon naturally, we do not need more cycle lanes.

There is no reason at all to cut down these trees, they don't obscure the view for cyclists or drivers.
They actually reduce pollution from all of the traffic going through Westerhope village.

Because of the destruction and loss of wildlife and bird habitat. The loss of sound reduction that the trees naturally provide and the loss of asthetic appearance, character and local beauty in the area.

Trees produce vital oxygen for everyone. Cutting them down to benefit a few cyclists who will breathe in more care fumes anyway as no tree filter is madness

The removal of these perfectly healthy trees would be a significant detriment to the environment, would adversely affect many people whilst the creation of a cycle lane would be of benefit to very few.

The council should narrow the width of the road instead - deliberate act of felling any trees will increase air and noise pollution, harming public health and increase the risk of flooding. Lack of joined up thinking.

A waste of money for the number of cyclists using this road. That money could be used to improve policing and support for our vulnerable residents. Plus the impact to the environment is too high. Let us keep our trees before our village looks like a car park.

I'm signing this petition because, as many people have already mentioned, the trees are very important for the control of CO² from the excessive traffic that runs through (you know, the carbon footprint that Ed Milliband was so hell bent on reducing)... But, I would also like to know, who's idea is this and how much of a back hander are they getting for this ridiculous idea..?

Beautiful trees and birds or bicycles. Why spoil the environment for a few bicycles. It really doesn't make sense !
