The trees have been there for years The cyclists done need a cycle lane and Westerhope will look absolutely awful without the trees. The residents on the side where the tree are will loose valuable parking space in front of their homes. It’s about time the council looked at themselves properly and decide what is best for the people of not only Westerhope but all over Tyneside where they get money to spend off central government and make the most ridiculous decisions. No idea. !!

I think It's a bad idea to build a cycle track on Stamfordham Road, at the expense of the wonderful, mature trees, which we all enjoy and admire. There must be many more projects the funding can be used for, than yet more concrete and less green spaces
