Westerhope and surrounding areas are being built up at an alarming rate, all the green space is almost gone. These mature trees are a small touch of nature. Please leave them alone!!!!

It’s beyond me why you would need a cycle path here. Just further down the road, past Palatine Beds, there isn’t even a footpath for people to walk on.
Wouldn’t it make far more sense to put a proper path all the way up past the golf course towards Jingling Gate, so people can actually walk or cycle the full route safely?
There has to be more behind this decision than we’re being told, because as it stands, it doesn’t make one ounce of sense.

I strongly disagree to removing trees. This area has more than enough redevelopment in the region affecting birds and our wildlife without removing even more trees. In addition removal of the trees would affect the aesthetics of the road - it’s looking more rural now but without the trees it would be just another steet with no chats there

All they need to do is split the footpath like they do in Germany and other European countries incorporating a cycle lane. No need to destroy the mature trees.

Westerhope does not need a cycle lane it can’t even cope with the amount of cars that go through it and we definitely don’t need to have less trees not are they good for the environment they make the bill look lovely.

Trees are hugely beneficial to the environment and to peoples’ well being.
It would take many years for newly planted trees to make up for any trees you fell.

This is short sighted by the council and should not be happening. The lose of the tree is a lose for environment as well as a lose of direction from the council.
