There is a planned development in Carnation, WA off of 45th (down Entwistle Street, but before it turns into Tolt River Road). This development would destroy roughly 100 mature trees and construct 28 new homes next to another densely packed development. The construction of these homes would have a devastating effects on the surrounding ecological systems including the Tolt River. During construction, there will be issues with noise pollution from heavy machinery, nail guns, saws, and other equipment and operations that go hand-in-hand with the development process. Access roadways will be affected and neighborhoods disturbed by the coming and going of supply vehicles and heavy equipment. This will have a detrimental affect on the already under-maintained road surfaces. The issue of development in Carnation is one that affects all residents in multifaceted manners. Whether you are concerned for the environment, more cars on the road, or dense development in general, there are plenty of reasons which justify your concern. Homes built in Carnation are there to stay. Should we allow private investors or corporations to impact our living environment permanently solely for their momentary profit, only to move on to their next exploit?
