We, the undersigned residents of Quincy, are opposed to the construction of the proposed 5 million dollar Maritime Center project in the Houghs Neck section of Quincy. The impact to our neighborhoods will be overwhelming, the cost is unjustified, traffic congestion and lack of parking is of major concern and the overwhelming burden it would put on the community and the entire city of Quincy. We ask you, Governor Baker, Lt. Governor Polito, Mayor Koch and the Quincy City Council to rethink this decision and not go forward on it. We believe a better solution would be to renovate/update the existing building and area.

Thank you for your consideration.

I have spent my week talking to neighbors who are just as worried as I am about how this project will permanently change the quiet streets where we live. While the city remains silent on our concerns we are preparing to take these signatures directly to the next planning meeting to show them exactly how many of us are paying attention.

Seeing this momentum grow proves that I am not alone in my love for our quiet streets and the peace of Houghs Neck. Knowing so many neighbors feel this same urgency to protect our home keeps me fighting harder than I ever imagined.

This is an expense we do not need. The fact that the parking area we are buyin Usa block away should. Tell you that it is an expense that the tax payers can not afford. The Parking garage is another.

Just replace the boat ramp and remodel the building that is there, there is no need to take people's home's and increase the traffic going into the neck on a street that is already like driving through a bombing range.

Let's keep Houghs Neck, Houghs Neck...I'm all for bettering or neighborhoods, cleaning up the streets and keeping the rif-raff off the corners..We do not need a big 3 story level building down there. We don't need the additional traffic and congestion either, with added pollution.. Let's keep Houghs Neck - Houghs Neck. It's cozy feel and charm..My family goes back to 4-5, full generations and my grandfather was the original owner of Mitchells variety store (at that time it had a different name) on Macey St before my nana sold the store to his sister and her husband. Why cant we just make some nice improvements and enhancements on the building? I'm very against this project!! Why does this NEED TO BE DONE!!

We don't need all this. Who is going to benefit? Not the people living here.

Find another place for this building. It doesn't belong in Hough Neck. A friend of the Neck
