"We are trying to be fair, fiscal conservative, to spend money wisely," said City Council Candidate Tamara Goehler. Goehler tells NBC2 News that not all residents on the Island are for the public transportation project, citing a survey she conducted as part of her campaign. "We decided to do a survey, we did online survey, and we had almost 2,500 plus participants and we had 75% of the residents rejected this proposal," added Goehler.

Enough already! This does not benefit the residents only tourists. I don’t want my tax money going towards this.

I strongly oppose a trolley system on Marco.

How does this help the residents and owners on the island?! It doesn’t. It’s to bring more tourists to a residential island.

A trolly making stops on the narrow streets and blocking traffic is one of many reasons why it should be stopped.

No resident feels there are too few people on Marco Island. No resident wants to spend money on efforts to bring more people onto the island. No resident is pushing for a trolley. No resident will vote for a council member who feels this is a good idea.

1) Average age of residence is 68, how does this benefit them? A trolley will make traffic worse. 2) What work has been done to see if residents, who are paying for this, want this or who on would use it? 3) You don't have a route, you don't have pick up and drop off places designated, nor do you have parking for people who need it.

If you conducted a poll of the residents you would see that the majority do not want this trolley. There is already two private “free” transportation businesses on the island, The Wave and Crabby Cabbie, support the locally owned services first. Stop catering to transient visitors and listen for a change to the residents.

We are not keeping up with the litter of trash and recycling on the island as it is. I pick up so much trash/recyling on my daily walks along the beach and inland, therefore I do not support anything that will potentially increase the amount of litter on the island

Not sure who exactly this would benefit.
