This solves nothing. It only creates problems for people living in HBTS. The traffic problems begin at Hwy 87 east. The portion of Hwy 98 in front of HBTS has a 55 MPH speed limit with few traffic lights. On our north side is Hwy 399. SRC, stop creating a problem where their is none. Fix the traffic issues east of HWY 87. Make Hwy 399 a bypass to Pan Handle Road and Hurlburt Field. If you have to get a fire truck to the new "Elevate" nonsense, fast track the Holey fire dept that is slated for Hwy 87 and 399.

Talk to your neighbors to the east, Okaloosa county is working with eglin AFB to develop a short bypass, if you want a real bypass, take an earlier route, closer to the county line (or connect in with the Okaloosa bypass) go North as far as possible then follow the river or river road to 87 and connect across there , cutting through the center is asinine!! If you’re wanting a bypass, be smart about it.

This is a pointless bypass 90% Of accidents that occur on 98 which would cause a back up happen near the Navarre bridge and the intersection of 87 and 98. What exactly are you bypassing?

Our commissioners have created this problem by not addressing traffic with all of these new builds along 98. People bought in HBTS and are now expected to have the community change because they ( the commissioners) did not listen to recommendations and only the possible revenue that could be brought. Something definitely needs to happen but disrupting a community to this extent is not the answer.

This bypass will finish the quality of life in my Broadmoor neighborhood if routed through it. The neighborhood has quite a few families with young and pre school age children and many elderly folks who walk as well. I am thinking about Coral street which is a through street and most cars travel at 40 mph and I believe that same behavior will happen on Broadmoor. Please do not do this!

HBTS is meant to be a quiet community where we can walk and ride our bikes with some degree of safety. THIS IS JUST WRONG!

The cost to bring this bypass to fruition in real dollars; cost to disrupting local natural wildlife habitats; as well as to increase safety concerns of parents and children for the relative short time saving can not justify this ‘gesture’ at solving a problem not brought about by local residents. Additionally, existing and future small businesses along Hwy 98 would miss potential growth realized as a result of visibility and convenience to residents and tourists traveling this road. And, the speed transfer of Hwy speed to residential 35mph can not justify the expense to change a safe, ideal neighborhood to a very busy thoroughfare where drivers have no concern to drive slowly, but rather to speed up. My family CANNOT support this waste of expense and reduction in quality of family life, particularly when much more conducive routing is in existence minutes away on Hwy 399. People speaking will become people shouting.

The proposed route for this access road straight through residential neighborhoods would be dangerous to the extreme. Not even considering the property that would need to be condemned think of the noise through these neighborhoods. I say no, expand 399 or something.
