Santa Rosa County is wanting to create a HWY 98 bypass that would pass through HBTS. Currently HWY 399 is a perfect bypass that surrounds HBTS. The proposed primary road option is Leisure St and secondary option is Broadmoor St. The proposed bypass will go through residential properties and mandate some residents to vacate their homes. The bypass is intended to reduce traffic concerns on hwy 98 though the majority of concerns are east of HBTS basically making the bypass useless. What will happen is a massive impact on the wildlife that currently occupy the areas to be cleared, as well as speeding traffic moving through our quiet community as the limit will be increased to 35 MPH. We need your voice now to stop this from happening.

I live on leisure and do not want to lose property, property value, have heavy traffic running in front of my house, a higher speed limit, lose the whole reason why I bought the house in its location, and potentially have to sell house and move.

This is totally unnecessary; the majority of traffic backs up on the east side of Panhandle Trail and the west side of Hurlburt field. This bypass will not solve any problems. Please stop recommending this to build more businesses in Navarre.

This comes within a block or so of my house. I spend all my evenings outside in my yard listening to the birds sing. I absolutely don't want that replaced with road noise. This could ruin the best part of my day and what I enjoy most about my house.

The streets in Holley Bye the Sea are kid friendly, that is one of the biggest draws for living here. This will destroy this safety net we all feel that we have for our kids. Our property value will drop. This isn’t what we signed up

Widen existing highway 98 or 399 and extend it west along the coast. Constructiing a highway through an established residential housing area will cause major safety issues and is tantamount to eminent domain, if not government overreach!

Two additional concerns are how this bypass would encourage commercial businesses (like gas station/dollar general) to build in our residential community and to the reduced safety for our kids and pets due to the increase in traffic and the speed limit.

Let’s start a PAC: “Fire bypass Commissioners” Traffic through a subdivision with Bus Stops, 4x garbage collections, daily Mail and Amazon deliveries. Absolute stupidity, Planners need to be fired,.

Another real bad idea. Extend hwy 399 east of hwy 87 like everyone has wanted since 2006.
