Stop The Gulf Place Hotel

I am against any large-scale hotel development like what is proposed here.

Do not approve. Too much congestion and no parking.

Every word in petition is TRUE! The very special atmosphere and all that make 30-A the incredible place it is will be absolutely destroyed if large outside businesses are allowed to come in and add more problems to Pre-existing ones of traffic, lack of parking, and overcrowding. Please don't allow large commercial Interests to destroy the unique character of this very special area.

As an owner in Gulf Place, I oppose dense hotel and residential development that will tax the infrastructure and public beach access and exacerbate the overcrowding in Gulf Place. The small neighborhood community will be destroyed by hotels and large condo complexes. We are not Destin and do not want the crowds, noise and traffic that come with these large developments.

As a homeowner on 30A I oppose any large building structure.. We do not need any more people in the area..

No more large developments! The infrastructure cannot handle it. Additional development takes away the tranquility that is the reason we are in Santa Rosa Beach.....More development will cause everyone's property values to decrease!!!

Development should only occur with adequate parking, adequate consideration of the infrastructure and beach carrying capacity, and in a way that fits in with and enhances the community. It's essential that smart zoning be developed for this community and enforced.

Additional developments in this area would be a tragedy to the already taxed resources. If this passes it will set precedents for other near by areas and further undermine the natural beauty on this end of 30A and for that matter all of 30A.

I oppose the construction of new condos and hotel in Gulf Pkace.

This is the last thing 30a needs! The beauty of 30a is its quaintness. The government and developers are only worried about money. We are developed enough!! It's one of the few places in the country with no stop lights (excluding Rosemary Beach and look how crowded that is)!! Stop filling every square inch of this wonderful, beautiful and unique place.

I do not want a hotel built in a condominium development, already maxed out with residents.

30-A/393 intersection is already dangerous, with parking along roads, beach parking, people darting in and out between parked cars (children in particular). Too congested as it is. Oppose the proposed hotel/condo.

You are allowing the building, building, building of anything that increases the tax base with no master plan and no infrastructure. Classic, textbook bureaucratic short-sightedness that intentionally puts the proverbial cart before the horse for no reason other than immediate financial gain. It is difficult to imagine a project worse for 30A and 393 than this.

Stop the Gulf Place Hotel!

We just finally got the Hampton Inn defeated thanks to the sound logic of Commissioner Meadows and the support of the community because the infrastructure of Highway 30-A in particular at the junction of CR 395 WILL NOT support this type of development. Highway 30-A with a very few exception should not be further compromised with multi-weekly housing projects. It will be as bad as the traffic, water runoff issues, stagnation and assorted blight any hotel would bring. Highway 30-A is a cultural 26 mile strip of precious Gulf of Mexico living that needs absolute control with an incorporation to protect the greedy development brought on by many who don't live there or even visit there because of the issues these types of developments bring. NO NO NO!

Wrong, just wrong for this area!!!!!

As an owner in Gulf Place, I am very concerned about the negative consequences of this type of development.
